Farmers can now use TNM Mpamba when buying or selling produce at ADMARC markets following a partnership between ADMARC and TNM, which was officially launched on Thursday at Nathenje ADMARC market in Lilongwe.
Speaking during the launch, ADMARC Lilongwe Division Manager, Dr. Carol Khunga, said the initiative will improve trading activities between ADMARC and farmers.
She noted that the system will enhance efficiency, reduce the risks associated with handling cash and help ensure that farmers’ earnings are secure and easily accessible.
TNM Director of Corporate Affairs, Sobhuza Ngwenya, said the partnership is one of the ways of supporting Malawi’s vision of promoting digital financial services and advancing the country’s digital economy.
He added that the initiative will help farmers embrace modern technology in conducting their business transactions, making trade more convenient, secure and accessible.
Ngwenya further said the partnership aligns with the aspirations of the Malawi 2063 agenda, which identifies digitalisation as a key enabler of socio-economic transformation.
The collaboration represents a milestone in modernising agricultural trade, empowering farmers with secure financial tools, strengthening digital inclusion and contributing to the achievement of Malawi 2063 through increased adoption of digital technologies across the agricultural sector.
