ADMARC Limited is a state-owned enterprise whose mandate is to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country through marketing of agricultural commodities, products and services, value addition to agricultural produce for both local and export markets, implementing government agricultural policies such as food security and price stabilisation and agricultural production, among others.
Currently, as part of its turnaround strategy, ADMARC is concentrating on 3 focus areas namely agricultural production, agricultural commodity trading and value addition.
ADMARC Limited plans to play a role of anchor farms in the Mega Farm Programme with smallholder farmers as well as cooperatives and commercial farmers for various crops through contract farming. This will help farmers to have readily available market for their crop, better prices and support of farm inputs on credit basis. interested farms/smallholder farmers will register with ADMARC Limited to be part of the contract farming. They will have to present plans for their productions. ADMARC Limited will assess their suitability based on viability of the plans, their requirements against the already available resources.
ADMARC, where necessary and possible, will provide inputs on loan basis to contract farmers that may need inputs support. This will be done after thorough due diligence.
It is in this light that ADMARC is calling for Expressions of Interest from individual farmers, farmer cooperatives and commercial farmers to participate in the contract farming arrangement with ADMARC. The contract farming arrangement will be for both irrigation and rainfed production.
REQUIREMENTS
- The applicants should have a minimum of 5 hectares of arable land dedicated for the purpose.
- The applicants should have adequate organisational/management capacity
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable experience in significant farming.
- Applicants with capital or some contribution, including farm infrastructure, will be given priority;
- Applicants should be those legally acceptable to get into a legally binding contract
