ADMARC commences Maize purchases

ADMARC Limited has commenced purchasing maize from smallholder farmers across the country, marking the start of the 2026/2027 maize marketing season.

The maize buying exercise officially began on 1 June 2026, with ADMARC purchasing the grain at the government-approved price of K900 per kilogramme through its markets nationwide.

The Company said all logistical arrangements had been finalised to ensure a smooth, efficient and transparent purchasing season. ADMARC has since encouraged farmers to sell their maize through official ADMARC markets to benefit from fair and competitive prices.

Speaking on the commencement of the buying season, ADMARC Chief Executive Officer Ben Botolo reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to supporting smallholder farmers and strengthening agricultural markets across Malawi.

“ADMARC remains dedicated to providing farmers with a reliable market for their produce while contributing to national food security,” said Botolo.

The Company has also urged farmers to deliver maize that is properly dried, clean and meets the required quality standards to facilitate efficient transactions and maintain grain quality.

The commencement of maize purchases underscores ADMARC’s continued role in supporting agricultural development, improving market access for farmers, and promoting food security in Malawi.
