The Ministry of Agriculture is launching a project to supply high-quality, resilient maize seeds to enhance the productivity of local farmers and bolster food security in the region. This project aims to address the increasing challenges of climate variability, pest infestations, and soil degradation that farmers face, by providing seeds that are both high-yield and climate-resilient. The selected supplier will be responsible for delivering certified maize seeds that have been tested for drought tolerance, disease resistance, and optimized for the region’s soil and climate. These seeds are intended for smallholder farmers who rely on maize as a staple crop for food and income generation, and the project will directly impact community livelihoods. Suppliers are encouraged to include in their bids information about seed varieties, expected yield, and previous successful partnerships with agricultural development initiatives.
